The world of the Strong Lady is filled with dazzling contrasts: muscle and grace, beauty and brute strength, lifting the hearts of the audience and… well… lifting the audience!
A genuine strong woman, Betty Brawn presents an exhilarating array of demonstrations of strength: she tears thick books in half with her bare hands, twists solid metal, snaps steel chains and shatters gender cliches as she performs the Human Carousel – carrying the weight of two gigantic men from the crowd.
Beautifully crafted and presented by a strong show‐woman, Betty Brawn excites audiences around the world: from families at outdoor arts festivals to late night crowds with champagne in hand. This theatrically trained Strong Lady performs her incredible array of stunts, not in the brutish style of a strong man, but with the elegance of a true Strong Lady.
This powerful one‐woman show was first developed in Australia in 2005, it began touring internationally in 2007 and has now delighted crowds across 24 countries, performing in 6 languages (French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese and English). If English is not widely spoken, the show is performed with minimal text, which is translated into your language.
Other work by the same artist has included duo acrobatic shows created in collaboration with other independent artists: Tutti Frutti (with Maryke del Castillo), Barcelona (with Mario, Queen of the Circus) and most recently LEAP (with Reuben Dot Dot Dot). This show involves audience participation, as her favourite feats of strength involve lifting grown men into the air. The men she invites out of the audience are always treated with respect and kindness while this gentle Strong Lady lifts them overhead as though they were feathers.

Strong Lady was created for outdoor arts and street theatre festivals. It has toured extensively through the festivals of Europe, UK and Australia as well as in Canada, New Zealand, Singapore & Japan.

Strong Lady has performed in variety shows, cabarets and gala events through the UK, Australia and Europe. Currently she is a feature act in the show BackSTAGE with the GOP Variete Theatre in Germany, with ongoing seasons through until 2018.
